Short answer: the app itself is free. Money only appears where you decide to plug in a paid service — and you can see exactly how much each bot spends.

The app
Free. Mac and Windows, updates itself, installs without an administrator password. Use it as long as you like, with as many bots as you like.
Models on your server
Electricity only. Open models run on your machine. No subscriptions, no request limits, no one else reading your conversations.
Cloud models
On your own key. If you want the cloud, plug in a key and pay the service directly. VibeBot takes nothing on top.

Per bot
The swarm page shows today’s spend next to each bot’s name, so the expensive one is obvious.
Budget
Set a ceiling per bot or for the whole swarm. At the limit the bot falls back to a free model instead of going silent.
Local only
One switch and the bot never reaches the cloud at all. Zero cost and zero leaks.
Will there be a paid tier?
The app and the swarm stay free. If a paid part ever appears, it will be a separate service — a ready-made server, say — not a switch that turns off what already works.
What does a server of your own cost?
It depends on what you run there. Text models are happy on an ordinary machine with a graphics card; a studio doing video wants something stronger. You can also start with no server at all, on free online models with your own key. Someone else’s server is not a way around it: its hardware belongs to its owner, so in the end the work runs either on your machine or in the cloud on your key.
What costs money in the first month?
Nothing, unless you plugged in cloud models on your own key. Install, updates, bots, projects, canvases and Telegram are all free.
